The Mozilo Family Foundation is dedicated to the enduring legacy of Angelo and Phyllis Mozilo through the perpetual and purposeful act of giving. Guided by the integrity, values, and spirit of generosity instilled by our founders, the Foundation seeks to advance initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact for both the family legacy and the greater good.

We serve communities in need, with a primary focus on educational access, healthcare advancement, and the empowerment of the underserved. Our efforts extend to supporting hardworking families and promoting the cultural and philanthropic contributions of the Italian-American community.

A legacy of giving

Angelo & Phyllis Mozilo

Established in 1997, the Foundation was born of Angelo and Phyllis Mozilo's conviction that giving is both a lifelong obligation and a privilege. Their example — generosity guided by integrity and faith — remains the Foundation's compass.

Christy Mozilo Larsen

CEO & Chair

After an international career in mortgage banking, Christy moved back to California and began working on personal pursuits. She and her husband live on a small farm off the beaten path, where they raise livestock and maintain a garden and orchard, sharing the excess in their roadside farm stand. Philanthropy has always been a part of Christy's life, as her parents made giving back one of the family's tenets, and she has been an active board member of the family foundation since 2007. She is the immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees for Gonzaga University and currently chairs the Governance Committee. Christy was recently named to the corporate board of Stacy-Witbeck, a construction engineering firm.

Eric Mozilo

Chief Financial Officer

Eric is a successful Mortgage Banker, Real Estate Broker, and Developer in Southern California. He is very involved in his community and teaches his children the value of philanthropy through example. Eric is an avid and extreme skier and loves vintage cars. He lives with his wife and two children in Southern California.

Elizabeth Mozilo

Secretary

Elizabeth has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to service, beginning with her work in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after college and culminating in a Master's in Social Work from Boston College. For 18 years, she volunteered with the National Charity League alongside her three daughters, working for various philanthropies. She has served as a court-appointed special advocate (CASA) for Los Angeles County, advocating for foster youth. In addition to her philanthropic efforts, Elizabeth has pursued various entrepreneurial endeavors, most recently founding CUFT, a mission-driven brand focused on wellness and sustainability. This business also gives back to women in need. Her dedication to her four children, community engagement, and social advocacy continues to guide her work. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Mike, and their two dogs, Gracie and Taffy.

Mark Mozilo

Board Member

Mark has been in the mortgage industry since 1986, including 12 years as EVP and Divisional CEO at IndyMac Bank. He was also a Regional VP at Countrywide Financial and has served as the co-founder and Principal of CALCAP Advisors for the past 17 years. Mark holds a degree from the University of San Diego and the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation. He serves on several boards, including IAMLA, and is a member of the San Gabriel Valley Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Mark resides in Newport Beach with his wife Michele and their dog Roo, and they have three adult children.

David Mozilo

Board Member

David has been a member of the foundation board and stewarding its finances and investments for over a decade. David has passed his SIE, Series 7, 65, and 63 and currently is a wealth manager and financial advisor. Giving back and serving his community is a key tenet in David's life and he actively participates on advisory boards of local charity organizations. David lives with his wife and two sons in Southern California.

Through buildings raised, programs funded, and scholarships awarded, the Foundation has directed more than twenty million dollars toward opportunity and lasting good.

The Phyllis Grace Mozilo Scholarship

The Foundation's flagship endowment, the Phyllis Grace Mozilo Scholarship is dedicated to lowering the barrier to higher education — helping students reach the opportunities a degree makes possible.

In brick and mortar

Great programs need homes — the Mozilo Family Foundation has supported critical programs through buildings which carry the family name in perpetuity.
